Denise is a senior associate of JSEC responsible for consulting in Stakeholder Relations Management (Relational Auditing) and Governance.
Her career of more than thirty years includes work in both the public and private sectors for corporate and NPO institutions where she has accumulated a wealth of experience in all aspects of organisational management and operations. Initially trained in wildlife conservation and management she started out as a research technician; moving on to study public relations and communication she progressed into tourism to market South Africa to international media brokers for the South African Tourism Board, and later as public relations officer for the Natal Parks Board.
A new season of engagement in the NPO sector followed during the 1990's when she participated in the establishment and coordination of the national prayer initiatives for South Africa during which time she researched and published a work on the history of South Africa. From 2002 to 2007 she served as the national director of the Christian Lawyers Association in South Africa before returning to the corporate sector to work for a Johannesburg-based management consulting firm, initially as the operations manager and then as the manager responsible for corporate and legal affairs.
Denise went on to pursue studies in Business Management and Corporate Governance. In 2010 she completed the Programme for Management Development (PMD2010) at GIBS (Gordon Institute of Management Science) and furthered her interest in Governance and Ethics having completed several courses of the CIS programme for Chartered Secretaries through WITS Plus at the University of the Witwatersrand (2012-2014). She also holds certificates in Corporate and Ethics Governance (2009) and the New Companies Act 71 of 2008 (2009) from the University of Pretoria.
